BASIC INFORMATION

The new Nature Park encompasses 175 acres, held in Trust, to provide our animals with a permanent, life-long home featuring spacious
natural habitats... including beautiful rock formations, vegetation, natural springs and much more! The new site is located just 20 miles east
of Kingman, AZ, USA, on Historic Route 66. Existing buildings have been renovated to provide for office space & a food-prep kitchen. Our
medical center and facility maintenance buildings are in progress. Future buildings will include a snack shop, research and education center,

special events site and much more.

PROGRESS AS OF JUNE 2009

Keepers of the Wild is fundraising for foliage!
It is time to make some improvements to our jaguar and leopard habitats. Click here for more
information on how you can help! Click here to see the progress we have made so far.
To see a before and after photo of our jaguar habitat, please scroll down.

We have some new additions to our animal family: Jill (coyote), Cornelius (raccoon), and Palmer (raven.)
All are doing well while adapting to their new environment. To view some photos, scroll down.
Check back soon to learn their stories.

On May 7, 2009 we lost a dearly loved hybrid to liver cancer. Little, but mighty, Nikkita was 12 years old
and deeply loved by us all. One Keepers volunteer who had formed a special kinship with her over the
years stated "Nikkita was the spunkiest, and most gentle and loving hybrid when it came to people.
When it came to the other hybrids however, she was not afraid to let the others know who was the boss.
HER. Although she was small in size, she more than made up for it in spirit." We miss you Nikkita.

Thanks to some generous donors, many of our animals have been fortunate enough to enjoy some new
enrichment toys. When a wild animal is confined in any way, external stimuli is needed to reduce or
eliminate any stressors in their environment. Enrichment toys help improve their well-being and we thank
those that help us provide the quality of life that all animals deserve.

The Swainson's Hawk we helped rescue and rehabilitate in conjunction with the Adobe Mountain Rehab
Center has been successfully released back into the wild on May 30th. To read this beautiful hawk's story,

We have many new animals available for sponsorship and have updated our sponsorship pages.
They make great gifts for friends and loved ones. To view all of our primates available for "adoption",

. To view some of our newest critters that also need to be sponsored, click here.
Check back often, as more animals will be added soon.

We have added a link to special photo galleries on our Wild Photos page.

To help out, please consider using GoodSearch: You Search...We Give! as your regular search engine.
If only 100 supporters conducted, on average, two searches a day with GoodSearch, Keepers
would earn more than $700 in a calendar year. In addition, just for shopping with GoodShop, 3%
of every sale would go to Keepers. That's an easy way to help out! Just make sure to enter
Keepers of the Wild in the space provided under "Who do you GoodSearch for?"

We have acquired some new dedicated volunteers and we are
always looking for more volunteers and interns, apply here.

Mattie is doing well, click here for more information.

Our snarling newcomer, Jill.
Ahh....isn't she darling? Barely over a month old,
Jill is not afraid to let her wildness show.
Jill with her hippo.
Jill is growing fast, already towering over the hippo that
was bigger than her just two weeks ago.

Our newest & oldest raccoon, Cornelius. Missing one ear and some teeth, it looks like he has been through a rough time! We hope he will enjoy his new retirement home at Keepers.
Palmer & Poe

The ravens have a new friend, Palmer (at left). The youngest and smallest out of the group, he seems to be holding his own.
Here he is hanging out with Poe.
