The new Nature Park encompasses 175 acres, held in Trust, to provide our animals with a permanent, life-long home featuring spacious
natural habitats... including beautiful rock formations, vegetation, natural springs and much more! The new site is located just 20 miles east
of Kingman, AZ, USA, on Historic Route 66. Existing buildings have been renovated to provide for office space & a food-prep kitchen. Our
medical center and facility maintenance buildings are in progress. Future buildings will include a snack shop, research and education center,

special events site and much more.

PROGRESS AS OF NOVEMBER 2009

Our first-ever online fundraiser, "The Mane Event", was a huge success and
we would like to thank everyone who participated this year!
Thank you for helping us continue to feed and care for exotic and wild animals in need.

Keepers of the Wild is now part of the Giving Works program on eBay. Help support our organization
the next time you buy or sell something on eBay by donating a percentage of your final sale price!
Remember all donations are tax-deductible. To learn more, visit our "About My Non-Profit Page" here.

We would like to give a special "thank you" to everyone who participated in our fundraiser with Chili's.
It was a success and we sincerely appreciate everyone's support.
We couldn't do this without you!!
THANK YOU!!

This month we were most fortunate to play host to a most peculiar visitor: "Sam", the pelican. Sam, a white
pelican, seemingly lost his way and was first discovered by citizens at the Centennial Park in Kingman, AZ.
They contacted the Kingman Animal Hospital, who then contacted Keepers for temporary rehabilitation and
placement. After discovering that white pelicans migrate along the western coast and Colorado River in the
winter, we took Sam to the river, hoping he would continue on his journey. Upon following up however, we found
that Sam had not journeyed far and was in the Bullhead City Chamber of Commerce parking lot. We returned
him to Keepers until folks from the U.S. Department of Wildlife transported him to Sea World in San Diego.
We miss him dearly and are grateful to have been given the chance to help this beautiful creature.
Scroll down to view some pics of Sam.

On August 6, 2009, we had to say goodbye to our dear friend, Alladin. As he was one of
Jonathan Kraft's first tigers, Alladin was with us for nearly all of his 15 years. He is sorely missed
and we will never forget the gentle and noble nature of this magnificent tiger. This Bengal was truly "royal"
and he will remain in our hearts forever. We will never forget you "Din-Din"!

And now for some good news: The indoor aviary of our birdhouse has been completed!!
The birds' release into their new environment was exciting for us all. If you haven't seen it yet, it is worth
a special visit. Come see how they are all getting along!! We would like to thank all of those who donated
their time and services to this project. We would not have been able to do it without you!!
To view some pics of their first day, please scroll down.

Keepers has new additions to the family:
Precious, a ring-tailed lemur is certainly a character and we cannot wait to share her with you.
As she is currently in quarantine, check back soon to see when she will be available for public viewing.
For now, scroll down to view a photo of Precious.

Cody, our new coatimundi is adapting to his new surroundings here at Keepers. He has taken quite
a liking to our other resident male coati, Rocky and I believe we can officially call them "buddies."
Scroll down to take a look at some photos of his release. He shares his new habitat with two skunks
and two other coatis. You will see from the photos that he is doing quite well.

Fred and Barney are our two new mule deer fawns. Brought to us by Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center
of Phoenix, they have settled in well at Keepers and are just plain adorable. While we
love having them here, both are an example of why people should not remove animals from the wild,
as neither of these young deer were meant to grow up and spend their lives in captivity. Deer mothers will
leave their young alone for the entire day while they look for food. Do not automatically assume a young
one has been orphaned! Please visit this link for information on sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife.
Scroll down to view photos of Fred and Barney.

We're so happy to announce that the introduction of our two coyotes, Jack and Jill, went very well and
they are now happily co-habitating. We believe Jack is enjoying the new company and thankfully Jill isn't
afraid to stand up for herself. Scroll down to view some photos of their first moments together.

The Swainson's Hawk we helped rescue and rehabilitate in conjunction with the Adobe Mountain Rehab
Center has been successfully released back into the wild on May 30th. To read this beautiful hawk's story,

We have many new animals available for sponsorship and have updated our sponsorship pages.
They make great gifts for friends and loved ones. To view all of our primates available for "adoption",
. To view some of our newest critters that also need to be sponsored, click here.
Check back often, as more animals will be added soon.

We have added a link to special photo galleries on our Wild Photos page.
Check back often for additions. Click here to go directly to our list of special photo galleries posted so far.

To help out, please consider using GoodSearch: You Search...We Give! as your regular search engine.
If only 100 supporters conducted, on average, two searches a day with GoodSearch, Keepers
would earn more than $700 in a calendar year. In addition, just for shopping with GoodShop, 3%
of every sale would go to Keepers. That's an easy way to help out! Just make sure to enter
Keepers of the Wild in the space provided under "Who do you GoodSearch for?"

We have acquired some new dedicated volunteers and we are
always looking for more volunteers and interns, apply here.

Keep us as one of your Web "Favorites" to check on our progress and to view new photos as well!

One of our newest additions, Precious,
"hanging out" and keeping our staff company
in our Animal Care Center.

Jill is doing well and continuing to grow while her "wild streak" remains intact. She is certainly a beauty and readily chimes along with the howls of our hybrids and wolves.

As you can see, Jill had no problem standing her ground.

Round and round they go!

Macaws, Archie and Bryce, trying to determine who is the "head bird." Thankfully they decided to each take a side.

Cockatoos, Zeus and Willie, get "up close and personal"
for the first time.

This is Sam, our temporary-resident pelican. Isn't he cute??

This is Barney, checking out Sam.

Sam on his long journey to.....

....the Bullhead City Chamber of Commerce.

Little Fred and slightly bigger, Barney, our two mule deer fawns.

Founder & Director, Jonathan Kraft, looks like he has his hands full, doesn't he?
