We will be posting information on Macaques and Spider Monkeys soon,
until then you can visit
Molly's page to
read about Macaques.
Cinderee arrived at Keepers of the Wild severely underweight
and extremely afraid of other creatures including humans.
Carlos, like most of the primates from this group, is
missing several teeth and suffers from emotional abuse. All
these primates have required further veterinarian inspection,
diagnoses and treatment so that they would recover from
their various afflictions and injuries that they arrived here with.

We have placed all these monkeys in spacious, natural habitats,

now! We still have habitat sponsorships available.
We rescued 10 monkeys (9 macaques and one spider monkey) that
were confiscated from a private home near Phoenix, Arizona.
With the help of Sheriff Joe Arpaio they have now arrived at Keepers
of the Wild where they have been given a safe and permanent home.
At this time they are done with quarantine that lasted at least 30 days, at
which time they were retested for various diseases to assure
their health and safety. The highly publicized raid ended in
the confiscation of 13 primates along with several other exotic and
domestic animals. One primate died shortly after confiscation
and two had to be euthanized after conclusive tests showed that they
had hepatitis B. We are still fundraising to assist in the
cost of building habitats for these 10 primates and appreciate all
the support we have received and will receive during this critical
time. Click here for ways to help.
Sheriff Arpaio wrote a wonderful thank you letter to Keepers of the
Wild for their assistance and rescue of these primates,

This is Buster, he is a macaque who arrived at Keepers of
the Wild with a severe hernia that has been diagnosed and removed.
Buster has fully recovered.
